Getting to the point of this post though....
Look what I found at a garage sale last week!!!
Isn't it beautiful? I think so.
(On a side note, yes, that is our grass, which means that splurging for the lawn fertilizer service this year is totally paying off!)
My Mom bought an antique sewing machine (much like mine below) at the same place for a total steal. I love garage sales that have more than just old tupperware and stacks of magazines.
It has made its home at the top of our stairs on our old sewing machine table. Now the dutch couple have something to listen to....
Are garage sales in full swing in your area? Any cool finds?
I finally went to garage sales last Saturday with the kids and it was so disappointing! Booooo!
ReplyDeleteNothing cool at all! Love your radio though!
I am sure the garage sales in my area have started but I havent gone to any yet. I am totally ready though!
ReplyDeleteGo! You cant go wrong really (except maybe bringing home too much stuff....)
DeleteIt is a Rod Stewart tune I believe! Having a party.
ReplyDeletehmmm...I just listened the whole song and I dont think so. There is a line in it that says "played by the dj on the radio" thats pretty close. Thanks for the suggestion though!! Its actually driving me a little nuts. There is a line like that in Browed Eyed Girl, but its not the song I am thinking of. I will get it one day....and then Ill be sure to post it here :)
DeleteI just read the comments in the hopes of finding the song! I think youre right... it is a Rod Stewart tune!! Great call!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile...what a cool find! Makes me wish NYC had garage sales...
Greate post. Keep posting such kind of info on your blog.
ReplyDeleteIm really impressed by your blog.

Sorry, I cant think of who does that song.. hmmm... but that radio is beautiful and it looks great on that sewing table!
ReplyDeleteIts Reba! No?
ReplyDeleteReba does have a song "Put on that radio". Ill have to check out the lyrics.
DeleteThanks!
Sorry, I have no idea what song the lyrics are from. And Google was totally useless! Your transistor radio was a great find, and the sewing machine is pretty cool. The Dutch couple on the stack of books is cute :-)
ReplyDeleteIve seen some garage sales in our area, but havent checked them out. I need to have my own garage sale first to sell some stuff and make room to buy some stuff! ;-)
Brown eyed girl??
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find!! Its so small! Im sure it was a modern marvel (being so small and portable). I have only hit one garage sale this year, but (fingers crossed) there are a few in my near future.
ReplyDeleteIm trying to reduce clutter, so Ive been resisting the sales. But there have been a few in my neighborhood! Ive seen some really nice plant stands. I may have to snatch one up. Hope your week is going well :)
ReplyDeleteLove garage sales and love that radio! Does it actually work? Reminds me of one I had as a kids.
ReplyDeleteLove that old sewing maching....looks amazing!! I must say I like to hang out at the antique markets for hidden treasures. Nice to meet you here on your blog! Have a great weekend.
